Code of Conduct
At Oakland Hills Veterinary Hospital, we strive to create an environment to ensure comfort for our patients, their families, and our staff to create an ideal environment to attend to the dogs, cats, and small mammals that you entrust to our care.
To preserve the relationship we ask that you follow the following policies:
- Visit at least once per year to maintain a valid veterinary-client-patient relationship as is required by law to dispense medications including flea/ tick and heartworm prevention.
- Please Arrive on time for your scheduled appointments to help our day run smoothly and decrease the anxiety of our other patients.
- Late Policy: If you are more than five minutes late for your pet’s appointment, we reserve the right to reschedule the appointment. Late arrivals often run into the next appointment time and affect the rest of our schedule. We want to respect every client’s scheduled appointment time.
- Cancellation Policy: If you wish to change or cancel an appointment, we appreciate a 24-hour advance notice. Advance notice allows another pet to use the appointment time. Appointments canceled less than 24 hours before the scheduled time may be considered a missed appointment/ no-show.
- Missed Appointment/ No-Show Policy: An appointment will be considered a missed appointment if you are over 5 minutes late and are made to reschedule. An appointment will be considered a no-show if you completely miss an appointment with no notice.
- After 3 missed appointments/ no-shows, we require you to place a deposit for the next appointment. This deposit will be equal to the exam fee for the next visit. The deposit will cover the exam.
- Treat other clients, patients, and personnel with respect.
- Verbal abuse, malicious or harmful statements about others, profanity, or disrespect will not be tolerated. If your behavior is problematic, we reserve the right to terminate our relationship and discontinue services immediately.
- Meet financial obligations.
- All payments are due at the time of service. We do not offer payment plans, but we accept Care Credit, cash, check, debit cards, and all major credit cards.
